Alma 5:27

Alma 5:27 "Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently humble? That your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Christ, who will come to redeem his people from their sins?"
Alma 5:31 "Who unto such an one, for he is not prepared, and the timeis at hand that he must repent or he can not be saved!"

I absolutely love this chapter! I love it because it has a simple message that is easy to understand. Soo in this verse it basically asks you if you think you are clean and ready to come home to your Heavenly Father. But then it goes on to say that you can really only be clean throught Jesus Christ, and in verse 31 it says that we need to repent in order to have eternal life and to be saved.

Mosiah 29:12

"Now it is better that a man should be judged of God than of man, for the judgements of God are always just, but the judgements of man are not always just."

When I had read this chapter, this verse had really stuck out to me. When I thought about it, it was kinda just plain and simple...leave the judging up to God because we are not always going to know another persons situation or circumstances. Also we shouldn't judge others because we're not perfect and we all make mistakes too. It just reminds me not to judge others because it isn't fair to them.

Alma ch.32:21 and 34:34

21. And now as I said concerning faith-faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.
34. Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.

BE CLEAN!

Helaman 4:24

And they saw that they had become weak, like unto the Lamanites, and that the Spirit of the Lord did no more preserve them; yea, it had withdrawn from them because the Spirit of the Lord doth not dwell in unholy Temples.

oooooooo!!!! This means that any body who is not clean and disobeys the Lord, does not have the Holy Ghost with them, but that's OK, because you can always repent.

2nd Nephi 9:52

Behold, my beloved brethern, remember the words of your God; pray unto him continually by day, and give thanks unto his holy name by night. Let your hearts rejoice."

OK, so I know that this is an old scripture from when we just started reading, but I just love this scripture, its always with me. (well maybe because my mom recites this to me evreyday) Well, anyways this is a great scripture to have with you everyday, because without knowing God is there and without praying to him everyday, I do not know if life would be as easy as it is.

Love,

Mosiah 18:21

And he commanded them that there should be no contention one with another, but that they should look forward with one eye, having one faith and one baptism, having their hearts knit together in unity and in love one towards another.

I love this chapter - Alma the Elder was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! In this chapter he baptised about 200 people who heard him preach and believed in what he said and wanted to be baptised. How intense is that?!? Anyway - I like this verse especially because this is how we as members of the church (and as humans in general) should treat each other. There should be no contention and we should have our hearts knit together in unity and L-O-V-E each other! I love you my BEEHIVES! You girls are the greatest!!!

Jacob 4:6

"Wherefore, we search the prophets, and we have many revelations and the spirit of prophecy; and having all these witnesses we obtain a hope, and our faith becometh unshaken, insomuch that we truly can command in the name of Jesus and the very trees obey us, or the mountains, or the waves of the sea."

I was looking back at some of the things I had highlighted in my Book of Mormon, and I came across this verse not knowing if it was me or my aunt(who gave me my scriptures)was the one who highlighted it. But it looked pretty good to me and so I read it and thought about it and I thought how true this verse is...I mean if we really do just listen to the prophet, we do obtain a hope and have unshaken faith and have so much power to do what is right and I just love it!

Alma 7:23-24

23. And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patienceand long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temperal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do recieve.
24. And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works.

Mosiah 4:30

But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts and your words, and your deeds and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not.

This has ALWAYS been one of my favorite scriptures. I love King Benjamin's address to his people. He has a lot of great stuff to say, but I really like this one. I like that we need to watch what we think - that is the first step. If we think nice things then we will do and say nice things. I know that is sometimes easier said than done, but if we can remember this scripture then we will be able to apply it to our lives :)

1 Nephi 19:23

When I was reading this scripture this morning, I found a cool quote from Joseph Smith that I had in my scriptures. It says:

"I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book."

Pretty darn cool!

Hey Girls!

Hello to my WONDERFUL BEEHIVES!!!

I wanted to start this blog so that we can have an online journal with each other about reading the Book of Mormon over the next few months. Check the blog daily and write your own posts when you want to!

I'm still playing catch up this week so I'm still in 1 Nephi. I love the way Nephi writes. I love they way that he teaches Laman and Lemuel. After Nephi heard Lehi tell about his vision some things confused him. So he prayed about it and received answers to his questions. Later Lamen and Lemuel are also confused, but they don't know what to do. I like Nephi's response.

1 And it came to pass that after I, Nephi, had been carried away in the spirit, and seen all these things, I returned to the tent of my father.

2 And it came to pass that I beheld my brethren, and they were disputing one with another concerning the things which my father had spoken unto them.

3 For he truly spake many great things unto them, which were hard to be understood, save a man should inquire of the Lord; and they being hard in their hearts, therefore they did not look unto the Lord as they ought.

Nephi was very discouraged and sad that his brothers would not be obedient. He went to talk to them.

7 And they said: Behold, we cannot understand the words which our father hath spoken concerning the natural branches of the olive-tree, and also concerning the Gentiles.

8 And I said unto them: Have ye inquired of the Lord?

9 And they said unto me: We have not; for the Lord maketh no such thing known unto us.

10 Behold, I said unto them: How is it that ye do not keep the commandments of the Lord? How is it that ye will perish, because of the hardness of your hearts?

11 Do ye not remember the things which the Lord hath said?—If ye will not harden your hearts, and ask me in faith, believing that ye shall receive, with diligence in keeping my commandments, surely these things shall be made known unto you.

So simple! If you are confused about anything all you have to do is ASK Heavenly Father believing that you will receive an answer and YOU WILL!!! Nephi is so awesome!
